In the history of the Qing Dynasty, there were countless concubines who were demoted, but those who were demoted to palace maids were very rare, one of them was Imperial Noble Consort Min of Emperor Xianfeng. However, after being demoted, Imperial Noble Consort Min had the opportunity to turn things around, was once again appointed as a concubine, and became a special concubine in the Qing Dynasty.
Tu Giai Thi was originally the daughter of the Imperial Banner Bao Y, under the Ministry of Internal Affairs. She was born in the 18th year of Dao Quang. Her father was Thanh Y, just a small Lang.
Tu Gia Thi's family background was nothing special, if not extremely ordinary, which made her lose the advantage of being promoted to a higher position. However, in return, Tu Gia Thi was famous for her beauty. It was this advantage that helped her change her destiny.
Thanks to the emperor's favor, in the 4th year of Xianfeng, she continued to be promoted to the title of Min Guiren. However, in the 5th year of Xianfeng, for unknown reasons, she was demoted to Changzai. Less than a month later, the emperor ordered her to be demoted to Guannuzi.
The imperial edict clearly stated that Tu Giai Thi had tortured the palace maids and was intimate with the eunuchs, both of which were major taboos in the palace. Perhaps because of her dissatisfaction with being demoted to Thuong Tai, Tu Giai Thi vented all her anger on the palace maids around her, committing a major crime.
In just a few months, Lady Xu Jia went from being a master to a slave. She felt humiliated and cried day after day. She knew very well that the chance of regaining the Emperor's favor was very slim. However, no matter how small the chance was, Lady Xu Jia had already grasped it.

In the 6th year of the Xianfeng era, she was reinstated as the Changzai. In the 8th year of the Xianfeng era, she gave birth to the second son of the Emperor but unfortunately died young. To console her, the Emperor promoted her to the rank of concubine, called Minfei.
In the 11th year of the Xianfeng era, Emperor Xianfeng passed away and Emperor Tongzhi took over the administration of the imperial court. In the same year, she was further promoted to Imperial Concubine Min, and then to Imperial Concubine Min in the 13th year of the Tongzhi era. She died in the 16th year of the Guangxu era, at the age of 56.
It is clear that after two demotion, Tu Giai Thi became more skillful to be able to be restored to the throne, regain favor and give birth to a Prince.
After Emperor Xianfeng passed away, Lady Xu Jia lived peacefully in the harem until the reign of Emperor Guangxu, and even achieved the position of Noble Consort. This was truly a rare event during the Qing Dynasty.
